What we keep
Hungover · Penn State alpha · 28 August 2026
Short version: your email is used to check you go to Penn State and to sign you in. It is never shown to anyone, and your handle is one you choose, not one taken from your address.
What's stored
- Your email address — to confirm you're at Penn State and to send sign-in codes.
- Your handle, which you pick, and which is the only name anyone sees.
- Your videos and their thumbnails, plus the caption, length, and when you posted.
- Likes and follows — who liked what, and who follows whom.
- Reports and blocks you make, so they can be acted on.
- A notification token, if you turn on alerts. It identifies your browser, not you.
- Camera errors and feedback you send, so failures can be fixed.
What isn't
- No location. No contacts. No photo library.
- No advertising identifiers, no third-party analytics, no tracking pixels.
- No passwords — sign-in is a one-time code, so there's nothing to leak.
Who sees what
- Your video, handle, caption and like count: any signed-in Penn State account.
- Your email address: nobody. It is not shown in the app, not in your handle, not in search.
- Where you placed in a night: only you. The server returns your number for your own account and no other.
- Your reports: reviewed by whoever is moderating. The person you reported is not told who reported them.
Where it lives
On Cloudflare — the database is D1 and the videos are in R2, both in the United States. Video files are served from unguessable URLs. Anyone holding a link to a specific file could open it, so treat a Hungover video the way you'd treat anything you post publicly.
Deleting it
- Settings → Delete account removes your account, your posts, your likes and follows, and deletes the video files from storage. It cannot be undone.
- Settings → Download my archive gives you everything you posted as a file, first.
- Removing a single post also deletes its video file, not just the database row.
